This site is a personal project, born from a deep connection to the community I’ve called home for decades. Over my years living in our town, working here, raising a family, and listening to the stories of our residents, I’ve learned a great deal. Above all, I’ve learned that place is fundamental to one’s quality of life.
My time running the Our Town Facebook page for over 15 years, my two-decade service on Council, and my ongoing efforts as a booster of this community have given me a sense of place that far exceeds the time and effort I’ve invested. This site—the latest iteration of Our Town—is designed to capture that spirit, simply because I believe it is important to preserve.
I do not strive for a "perfect" site; I aim for a good one. I have always believed that perfection is the enemy of the good. My research typically begins with a germ of an idea sparked by a conversation, followed by intensive AI-facilitated searches of historical records and the archives of the Clarenville Packet.
I invite you to take the time to explore this material. If you have further insights or spot anything factually incorrect, please let me know. Suggestions are always welcome.
Thanks for stopping by.
